Spitalfields FREE Pick and Cook sessions are an opportunity to learn how to cook using garden produce to create tasty, interesting and nutritious meals, and to share food in a friendly setting.
Pick and Cook sessions happen every 1st and 3rd Monday of the month at the Farm, from 11.00 AM to 2.00 PM. The 1st Monay of the month is just women.
This farm is brimming with character and amazing people. Just outside the square mile you can learn some new recipes and cooking techniques and do something totally different. We love this.
Spitalfields City Farm is the nearest city farm to the square mile. Despite this, the farm is located in one of the most deprived and densely populated wards of Tower Hamlets (DOE 1996), although Spitalfields remains a vibrant and colourful multi-cultural area with strong community links. The farm is a registered charity and company limited by guarantee, managed by a voluntary management committee drawn from its membership and elected annually. Receiving over 18,000 visitors a year and spread over 1.3 acres of land owned by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets and Railtrack. The farm keeps a selection of farm animals and has developed growing areas in every available space.
Spitalfields City Farm is located in Tower Hamlets, which is London’s fastest growing borough, with a population increase of 33% expected by 2020.
