The NSPCC is delighted to announce that it is the lead charity for this year's Great British Duck Race! Taking place on Sunday 6 September 2009 on a one kilometre stretch of the River Thames near Hampton Court Palace, this year's Great British Duck Race aims to break the Guinness World Record, with thousands of strange plastic ducks racing down the Thames. Each duck costs £2 and the first duck to cross the line wins £10,000 plus there are a number of smaller prizes for the runners up! When buying your duck please make an additional fundraising donation to the NSPCC's Child's Voice Appeal to help us protect more vulnerable children. Join our Duck Race Competition!
Just for fun, we are asking all of our NSPCC Supporters to take a duck photo on their summer holiday break with them, and then to send the image to duckrace@nspcc.org.uk. We are trying to get as many photos or videos of plastic ducks taken all over the world and we need help from you and all your friends from across the globe! Whether you take a photo or video of your duck at your local park or on a family holiday in Spain, we’d love to see it!
Be as creative as you like - please see the photos that we have received already from our supporters. Enjoy!
